Doctor of Veterinary Medicine
Island Exotic is seeking a Doctor with experience in Exotic Animal Care. Animals the clinic sees includes but is not limited to Rabbits, Birds, Small Rodents and Reptiles. Please email for contractual details.

Licensed Vet Tech (LVT)

Very busy avian/exotic practice is in search of a licensed veterinary technician that is ready to join our passionate team for full or part time positions. We are looking for a passionate veterinary technician with the following skill sets to be applied to birds, reptiles, rodents, rabbits, ferrets, and other exotic companion pets:

  • Venipuncture on many species as well as IV catheterization
  • Ability to use and work with digital radiography and position for radiographs.
  • Anesthesia induction/intubation and monitoring for exotic species, especially rabbits, rodents and birds
  • Surgical preparation of patients
  • Nursing care of ill patients.
  • Able to assess critical patients and help with emergency cases.
  • Computer proficiency
  • Knowledge of husbandry for many exotic species
  • Excellent communication skills to discuss care and instructions with our clients.
  • The ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment and thrive under pressure
  • Knowledge of proper restraint of exotic species
  • Someone who works well with a team and is willing to collaborate.

At Island Exotic Veterinary Care, we strive to make every team member feel like family and treat our patients like our own. Salary $22.00-26.00 commensurate upon experience.
